Scotland’s vibrant horse racing scene is built around five historic tracks that host prestigious events across both Flat and National Hunt codes.

Ayr Racecourse is one of nation’s premier venues, home to its two biggest meetings: the Scottish Grand National Festival in April and the Ayr Gold Cup Festival in September, which features Europe’s richest sprint handicap.

Musselburgh Racecourse, located near Edinburgh, is another major dual-purpose track famous for its Easter Saturday meeting and a high-fashion Ladies Day in June.

Perth Racecourse is the UK’s most northerly track and sees top-class Jump racing throughout the Summer, highlighted by their three-day ‘Perth Festival’ at the end of April.

Rounding out the list are Hamilton Park, providing excellent Flat racing to the people of Scotland, and Kelso Racecourse in the Borders, frequently voted the “friendliest” track in the country and a key venue for Winter Jumps racing.
