Glamorgan-based Wedge began the month with a fantastic win on home soil, securing the Coral Welsh Grand National with Secret Reprieve at Chepstow on Saturday 9th January.
Remarkably Wedge survived two falls in previous races on the day and was also able to steer Secret Reprieve to victory despite the girth, the principal support holding the saddle in place, snapping during the race.
That was one of four wins in January for the 31-year-old, with another notable success being aboard Silver Hallmark in the Grade 2 Altcar Novices’ Chase at Haydock Park on Saturday 23rd January.
Wedge sits 14th in the 2020/21 Jump Jockeys’ Championship with 35 winners to date.
Scudamore secured a total of eight wins in January, the first of those being the pick of the bunch, by claiming the Grade 1 Coral Finale Juvenile Hurdle with Adagio at Chepstow on Saturday 9th January.
The 38-year-old went onto to claim successes at Exeter, Plumpton, Fontwell and Wincanton, as well as a double at Lingfield Park Racecourse on Monday 18th January.
Devon-based Scudamore then completed his tally for the month with an excellent win in the Grade 2 Peter Marsh Handicap Chase aboard the exciting novice Royale Pagaille at Haydock Park on Saturday 23rd January.
Scudamore is in 13th place in the 2020/21 Jump Jockeys’ Championship with 40 wins so far this season.
Jacob claimed a total of ten victories throughout January, including a fantastic five-timer at Wincanton on Saturday 9th January.
At accumulated odds of 3,275-1, the five wins came for five different trainers and included a brilliant win aboard Messire Des Obeaux in the Grade 2 Paddy Power Dipper Novices’ Chase.
