Jack Mitchell comes from a racing background, he was taught to ride by his mother, Patricia. His father, Phillip Mitchell, had a successful career as an amateur jockey. The family has produced multiple notable jockeys, going as far back as his grandfather, Cyril Mitchell, who began his career in 1929.
Having found a niche as a jockey willing to head to smaller racecourses during major meetings, Mitchell often finds himself in high demand with the most powerful trainers up and down the country.
Despite carving a career at the smaller racedays, Mitchell doesn’t shy away from the big days, with notable victories at Royal Ascot, as well as Group success further afield in Germany and Italy.
