It was an incredible month for all three jockeys that will without doubt live long in the memory.

Hollie Doyle had a sensational QIPCO British Champions Day double that included her first Group 1 victory and before the racing at Ascot she broke her own record for the most winners in a calendar year by a woman.

Tom Marquand levelled the scores up on Champions Day with a double of his own including the prestigious QIPCO Champion Stakes.

William Buick won the esteemed QIPCO Fillies’ & Mares’ Stakes at Champions Day as well as banging in winners left right and centre in the hunt to become Champion Jockey.

Now here’s your chance to pick who you think should be October’s Jockey of the Month. Voting closes at 4:00pm 3rd November.

Hollie Doyle

Hollie Doyle made the headlines during October as she continued to break records for women in racing and add significant milestones to her growing CV.

On Wednesday 14th October, Doyle broke the record for most wins achieved by a woman in a calendar year, celebrating her 117th win of 2020 aboard State Occasion at Kempton Park. The 24-year-old surpassed her own record of 116 wins which she set in 2019, exceeding the previous record held by Josephine Gordon in 2017 (106 wins).

This incredible feat was followed by an exhilarating day of successes on QIPCO British Champions Day on Saturday 17th October at Ascot, where Doyle dominated the racecard with two wins and two seconds landing herself the leading jockey title on the day.

Doyle began the day by winning the QIPCO British Champions Long Distance Cup with Trueshan and then celebrated her first Group 1 victory with Glen Shiel in the QIPCO British Champions Sprint Stakes, becoming the third woman to win a Group 1 race alongside Hayley Turner and Alex Greaves.

Doyle’s 17 wins during October take her tally for the season to 94 and therefore fourth place in the 2020 Flat Jockeys’ Championship.

Tom Marquand

Tom Marquand also enjoyed a fantastic QIPCO British Champions Day, with the highlight being an amazing victory with Addeybb in the QIPCO Champion Stakes.

Marquand swept up his third Group 1 victory with Addeybb following on from their two Group 1 successes in Australia in April. Marquand also went on to claim a double on the day, clinching victory in the Balmoral Handicap aboard Njord.

The 22-year-old also secured doubles at Lingfield Park, Yarmouth, Wolverhampton, Chelmsford and Goodwood during the month, and his 22 victories in October take his tally for the season so far to 112 wins and therefore third place in the 2020 Flat Jockeys’ Championship.

William Buick

William Buick secured an impressive 30 wins throughout October, with the most notable being his success with Wonderful Tonight in the QIPCO British Champions Filles & Mares Stakes on QIPCO British Champions Day.
