Hollie Doyle continued her stellar form in August and the 23-year-old entered her name into the history books once again, after a fantastic five-timer at Windsor Racecourse on Saturday 29th August resulted in Hollie becoming the first female jockey to land five winners at a single meeting.

Doyle followed up her five-timer at Windsor with a treble at Yarmouth Racecourse the next day, in what was her second treble of the month following a treble at Lingfield Park Racecourse on Tuesday 4th August.

During the month, Doyle also became the fastest female jockey to reach 50 wins in the Flat Jockeys’ Championship. Her win aboard Good Impression at Bath Racecourse on Monday 24th August meant she reached the half-century 84 days into the 2020 campaign, 41 days faster than her own record of 125 days last season.

Amongst the 19 wins, Doyle also claimed two Group 3 successes with Extra Elusive. Firstly, in the BetVictor Rose of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock Park Racecourse on Saturday 8th August and then in the Gallagher Group Winter Hill Stakes as part of the five-timer at Windsor Racecourse. Jim Crowley

2016 Champion Jockey, Jim Crowley, reached a significant milestone during August by securing his 2,000th British win aboard Modmin at Goodwood Racecourse on Sunday 30th August and becoming only the fifth current flat jockey to reach the landmark in the process.

That win rounded off another successful month for Crowley where he totalled 18 victories, four of which came in successive races at the Welcome To Yorkshire Ebor Festival on Friday 21st August when he won the first four races on the card.

The 42-year-old secured wins with Alfaatik, Minzaal, and then Enbihaar in the Group 2 Weatherbys Hamilton Lonsdale Cup followed by a second successive victory in the Group 1 Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes aboard Battaash – with those two races forming part of the 2020 QIPCO British Champions Series.

William Buick

William Buick recorded an impressive total of 24 victories during the month, beginning with a four timer at Newmarket Racecourse on Saturday 1st August including his 50th winner of the campaign aboard Karibana.

The 32-year-old also went on to secure doubles at both Lingfield Park Racecourse on Wednesday 26th August and previously to that at Sandown Park Racecourse on Sunday 23rd August – one of which was a win aboard Maamora in the Group 3 Betway Atalanta Stakes.

However, the most notable victory amongst Buick’s 24 would have to be his triumph with Ghaiyyath in the Group 1 Juddmonte International Stakes at York Racecourse on the opening day of the Welcome To Yorkshire Ebor Festival on Wednesday 19th August.

That win meant Ghaiyyath is now the highest rated racecourse in the world.
