Sam hails from a racing family, he is the son of leading trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies, whilst his mother is a former point-to-point rider. His younger brother William Twiston-Davies is also a former jockey, who now trains with his father.  

His long-standing association with Paul Nicholls, along with his father Nigel, has resulted in Sam becoming one of the most accomplished jump jockeys of his generation. 

Twiston-Davies’ partnership with The New One stands out, with the duo winning 18 races together, including a Cheltenham Festival win.
