Richard Dunwoody MBE is a legendary Northern Irish National Hunt jockey who dominated the jump racing scene in the 1980s and 1990s.

Over a career that spanned 17 years, he became a three-time Champion Jockey (1993–1995) and was the first rider to surpass the career total of 1,500 winners, eventually retiring with 1,874 global victories—a record that stood until 2002.

He is particularly celebrated for his partnerships with some of the sport’s most iconic horses, most notably the legendary grey Desert Orchid, with whom he won two King George VI Chases, and the brilliant One Man.
