Bangor-on-Dee

Set in glorious countryside and overlooked by the Welsh hills. Bangor has a unique character, and is the only racecourse in the country that doesn’t have a grandstand.

Bangor-on-Dee

The first steeplechase meeting took place at Bangor on 25th February 1859 over much the same course as that on which the races are held today.

Today the raceourse stages 14 exciting jump racing fixtures a year on the banks of the River Dee. Seasonal highlights include the Anne Duchess of Westminster Charity day in November featuring the listed race, Ladies Day in July and both family fixtures in May and August where under 18s race for free.
