LOVE is all you need in the Yorkshire Oaks

News | 20th August 2020

Love conquered all as she routed the field to claim another top level victory in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks.

Group 1 races are the most elite contests in the sport and are therefore usually the hardest to win. Today however that was not the case as Love absolutely sauntered to victory at York in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks.

Her nearest rival, Alpinista, finished some five lengths behind the double Classic winner on day two of the Yorkshire Ebor Festival.

The Aidan O’Brien filly will now be aimed towards Paris and a date with Europe’s richest Flat race – The Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

There the three-year-old will find another mighty mare in the shape of two-time Arc and Yorkshire Oaks winner, Enable. It’s set to be a fascinating battle with youthful Love going toe-to-toe with the experienced Enable.

That’s not forgetting yesterday’s star performer Ghaiyyath who like Love completed a hat-trick of Group 1 race victories with a scintillating performance on York racecourse’s beautiful turf. They are without doubt the big name horses of 2020 to date!
