The green and gold colours of Irish supremo JP McManus visited the coveted winners’ enclosure on a remarkable 4 different occasions with Champ, Dame de Compeigne, Easysland and Aramax.
The most astonishing finish of the day saw the aptly named Champ come from the clouds to win the RSA Chase.
Named after 20-time Champion jockey Sir AP McCoy, the eight-year-old appeared to be beaten before pulling it out of the fire in the last 150 yards, mugging long-time leaders Allaho and Minella Indo in the lead up to the line.
