Luke Morris came from a racing background, with his grandfather Joe Tate, uncle Jason Tate and cousin Ryan Tate all being jockeys, he looked destined for the saddle. In 2005, whilst still at school, he became apprentice to Michael Bell, before becoming stable jockey for Sir Mark Prescott in 2012.
Part of one of the most successful horse-jockey combinations of all time, Morris rode the Prescott-trained Alpinista to eight consecutive victories, leading up to their win in the 2022 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
In his career, he has ridden over 2,300 winners and has ridden more than 100 winners every season since 2011, highlighting his consistency and skill over more than two decades in the saddle.
