The Darley Dewhurst  Stakes is the feature race on Newmarket’s Dubai Future Champions Day.

The Group 1 contest has been won by some of the greats of Flat racing and it is often used a stepping stone to Classic glory.

Frankel won the seven-furlong contest 16 years ago before galloping into racing’s record books.

More recently, subsequent Classic winners Native Trail, Chaldean and City Of Troy all joined him on the prestigious roll of honour.

The Night Of Thunder Zetland Stakes and the Emirates Autumn Stakes – both Group 3 races – are other significant juvenile prizes on the card.

At the opposite end of the age and distance spectrums, the two-and-a-quarter-mile Club Godolphin Cesarewitch Stakes is one of the top staying handicaps in the calendar.

With no less than five Group 1 races, Qatar Racing British Champions Day is simply unmissable.

Ascot’s end-of-season celebrations has been attracting the biggest names in Flat racing since it was created 15 years ago.

The Champion Stakes (mile-and-a-quarter) and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (mile) are two of the most prestigious races of the season in their respective divisions.

The British Champions Long Distance Cup, Sprint Stakes and Fillies’ and Mares’ Stakes are the other top-class races. It all makes for a race day of peerless quality.

As well as the brilliant horses on show, the champion jockey will be crowned. This year, Billy Loughnane looks likely to land the prestigious honour for the first time.
