The Cotswolds-based jockey claimed his third Grade 1 win in the Fighting Fifth at Newcastle. It was an epic race with four horses in contention in the home straight.
Burke’s ride Not So Sleepy rallied in the final 100 yards to cause a dead-heat with the much favoured and former Champion Hurdle heroine Epatante.
Sharing the spoils of the big race meant Burke brought up a double on the day at Newcastle. His second double of the month with the Irish jockey claiming two winners at Wetherby three days prior.
The 2020/21 Champion Jump Jockey had a spectacular month with three Graded victories being the headline moments.
Skelton enjoyed big success at the three day Cheltenham November meeting. On Saturday, he won the Grade 2 From The Horse’s Mouth Podcast Novices’ Chase with the exciting Third Time Lucki before bagging a Graded double on the Sunday.
Nube Negra won the Grade 2 Shloer Chase with an impressive performance to beat Politologue, Put The Kettle On and Rouge Vif. West Cork completed a 38/1 double for Skelton in what was a fantastic and well-timed ride in the Greatwood Hurdle.
The Venetia Williams stable jockey enjoyed one of the biggest moments of his career last month in the Grade 3 Ladbrokes Trophy Chase. The hotly contested handicap is an undoubted Winter highlight and a prize all Jump jockeys hold in the highest regard.
Deutsch and his mount Cloudy Glen held off Fiddlerontheroof to land the prestigious race at odds of 33/1. It was an emotional success as Cloudy Glen crossed the line the winner in the second colours of the late owner and legend of the sport Trevor Hemmings.
Elsewhere Deutsch claimed seven winners in the month including a double at Ascot.
