297 retired racehorses from around the world, including as far afield as Australia, New Zealand and the USA, have entered the Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) virtual online show.
Entries are now closed and judging of the 30 classes is now underway with the results due to be announced on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August on the RoR Facebook page and website.
British racing has fully supported the event and the fantastic work being done by the RoR charity.
Racehorses are incredibly well looked after in retirement with a number of different activities and competitions available to them including showing, showjumping, eventing, dressage and more. It’s very important to keep ex-racehorses active and exercising to maintain a happy, well-lived life.
A number of British racing’s biggest names have sponsored the RoR event as well as joining the judging panels across a number of classes. They include champion jockey Oisin Murphy and champion trainers John Gosden, Richard Hannon, Paul Nicholls and Nicky Henderson.
Some of the big name racehorses entered include multiple Grade 1 winning National Hunt retired racehorses Cue Card, The New One, Mikael D’Haguenet and Zarkandar, plus the twice Grand National-placed Saint Are.
