Three top class jockeys, only one winner! These three jockeys had brilliant months with numerous graded winners and now they need your votes. Vote now...

The three jockeys nominated for February Jockey of the Month 2022 are Charlie Deutsch, Brendan Powell and Ryan Mania.

All three nominees had big race winners throughout the month. Find out more about each jockeys’ month below.

Jockey Brendan Powell won the February Jockey Of The Month vote with a share of 59%. Congratulations Brendan!

Charlie Deutsch

Charlie Deutsch celebrated the first Grade 1 success in early February after L’Homme Presse cruised to victory in the Scilly Isles Novices’ Chase at Sandown.

Deutsch said: ‘This means a huge amount as Grade One wins seemed a long way off. It can sometimes never happen for a jockey. We have a brilliant horse on our hands”.

Charlie then rounded off his weekend with Grade 3 success in the Heroes Handicap Hurdle with Green Book.

He would continue in his rich vein of form as he dictated matters just a week later to land another big Saturday winner for Venetia Williams. This time, the diminutive seven-year-old Funambule Sivola showed plenty of class to overcome a competitive field in the Grade 2 Game Spirit Chase.

Brendan Powell

Up against dual King George VI Chase winner Clan Des Obeaux and Betfair Chase runner-up Royale Pagaille, Brendan Powell looked to have plenty to do to win this year’s Grade 2 Denman Chase with the Colin Tizzard-trained grey, Eldorado Allen.

However, the young horse relished the step up to three miles at Newbury to dent some lofty reputations.

Tizzard said: “He was given a great ride by Brendan again. We were pretty convinced he was a three-miler.”

Ryan Mania

Mania, best known for his win with Auroras Encore in the 2013 Grand National celebrated another marathon success in Newcastle’s 4-mile Eider Chase with Win My Wings last weekend.

After the race Mania enthused “She’s not big, but wow does she jump! She’s brilliant”

Galashiels-born Mania had previously taken a five year break from the sport due to a lack of opportunities before returning in 2019. The Scotsman has certainly done his best to make up for lost time; claiming a string of high profile wins since.

Don’t forgot to vote for who you think should be the February Jockey of the Month 2021.
