Four-time Champion Jockey Richard Johnson has selected three magnificent horses for the new Horse of the Month competition.
To reflect and shine a spotlight on the amazing animals that power our sport, each month the retired jockey will be keeping his eyes out for big performances on the track and up and coming stars of the sport.
All three nominees for November gave spectacular performances that didn’t go unnoticed by Richard. Find out more about each equine star for November below.

November’s Horse of the Month contenders
West Cork – Trained by Dan Skelton
Richard Johnson’s verdict: “West Cork was a great winner of the Unibet Greatwood Handicap Hurdle after two years absent from the racecourse. A huge effort for the horse and great training from Dan Skelton.”
Cloudy Glen – Trained by Venetia Williams
Richard Johnson’s verdict: “Cloudy Glen put up a great performance to win the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury. A 33-1 shot in such a competitive race proves his talent and determination.”
Back on the Lash – Martin Keighley
Richard Johnson verdict: “Not only was Back on the Lash a fantastic winner of the Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase, he has taken really well to these fences. He is proving to be getting better in every run.”
