Dream Horse Movie|The inspiring story of Dream Alliance

Features

The ultimate rags to riches story of Dream Alliance will be told on the big screen this spring.

Dream Alliance is the incredible story of how a horse that was born on an allotment, bought for £300 and went on to win £138,000 in prize money.

In Cefn Forest, Caerphilly, a village in one of the poorest mining valleys in Wales, Brian and Jan Vokes decided to breed a racehorse despite only having experience in breeding budgies, pigeons and whippets.

The family began a 23-strong racing syndicate in the Cefn Forest Working Men’s Club, forming what they dubbed a dream alliance. The aptly-named horse went on to win five out of 30 races including the now famous Welsh Grand National in 2009.

The story was so inspiring that a documentary called Dark Horse was created; winning an Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival.

On the back of the Dark Horse documentary success, the inspiring tale will now be told on the big screen. The film will be called “Dream Horse”, starring Homeland and Billions star Damian Lewis, and The Sixth Sense and Little Miss Sunshine actress, Toni Collette.

The film will hit our screens on 17th April this year.
