Born in Spennymoor, County Durham, Connor Beasley seemed destined for a life in racing. He was raised in a family with deep equestrian roots, with his grandfather, Bobby Beasley, working as an assistant trainer and both parents employed as work riders. At the age of six, Beasley joined the South Durham Pony Club, gaining experience in pony racing, showjumping and eventing. 

By the age of 14, he was riding out in the school holidays for locally based trainer, Richard Guest. Initially holding aspirations of becoming a farrier, a failure to gain the required qualifications led to a change of tack, as Connor took up a position at Tracy Waggott’s yard immediately upon leaving school at 16. 

After riding out his claim, Beasley joined the professional ranks and was considered a rising star of the sport. However, disaster struck in 2015 when he suffered a serious fall at Wolverhampton which left him fighting for his life. In just 10 months, with help from family, friends and the Injured Jockeys Fund, Beasley returned.  

Back in the groove, and riding consistent winners, Beasley’s career went to another level in 2025, forging a strong career in the Middle East. Since 2025, he has won three Group 1 races in partnership with trainer A bin Harmash, as well as the Saudi Derby. 

Showing the steely resolve to bounce back from such a significant injury must count as one of the finest achievements in his career, but Connor has also compiled an impressive list of accomplishments on the track – many of which have come in the years following his return to the saddle.
