Born in Newcastle and raised in Lancashire, Callum Rodriguez fought at national schoolboy level as a boxer, but, at the age of 16, opted to hang up his gloves and focus on a career in horse racing. A decision which paid off.

After a difficult first two years, riding a total of just 13 winners, Rodriquez joined Michael Dods yard in County Durham. The partnership proves successful with Rodriguez riding 39 winners in the season, highlighting his resilience and determination.

After riding out his claim in 2018, he went on to win his first Stakes just 9 days later with victory in the Scottish Fillies’ Sprint Stakes at Ayr. The wait for his first Group 1 Success came in 2023 when he won the Sprint Cup Stakes on Regional.
