Brian Hughes is one of the most consistently successful jump jockeys of his generation, known for his relentless work ethic, race intelligence and consistency at the top level of the sport. Born in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, Hughes moved to England to pursue his riding career.  

In the 2019/20 season, Hughes became Champion Jump Jockey for the first time, becoming the first jockey based in the North of England to do so since 1980, an achievement he went on to complete a further two times over the next three years. 

Hughes is one of only four jockeys to ride 200 winners in a season, a feat previously achieved only by Peter Scudamore, AP McCoy and Richard Johnson.
