Silvestre De Sousa

Silvestre de Sousa is a Brazilian-born flat jockey who has become one of the most prolific and hardworking figures in international horse racing.

After a humble start in Brazil and a difficult transition to Ireland, he moved to Britain in 2006 and established a fearsome reputation for his “Iron Man” work ethic.

He served as a retained rider for the powerful Godolphin ownership from 2012 to 2015, winning the 2014 Dubai World Cup on African Story.

De Sousa is a three-time British Flat Racing Champion Jockey (2015, 2017, and 2018), a feat that places him alongside legends like Ryan Moore and Frankie Dettori.
