What does it take to become a Stobart Champion Jump Jockey?

There can only be one Stobart Champion Jump Jockey crowned in April on the Jumps finale at Sandown. Physical and mental toughness as well as natural ability are just some of the ingredients needed to succeed and beat all your rivals to the trophy.

Here are some of the incredible stats that will need to be achieved over the forthcoming season to become Champion Jockey:

  • 70,000 miles driving a year, that’s the equivalent of travelling around the earth nearly three times
  • 7,000 obstacles faced, that’s almost the height of Everest
  • 1,300 miles of racing, which is the equivalent of travelling from London to Rome

And during that time there will be around 2.5 million spectators will turn out to watch the Jumps Jockeys’ Championship, that’s enough to fill Wembley stadium 28 times over!
