Union J star JJ Hamblett set for return to saddle!
JJ Hamblett of boyband Union J has spoken of his desire to go back to his horseracing roots and ride in a race for charity. In an exclusive interview, the pop star chats to us ahead of his band’s performance on the X Factor this weekend about his career in and out of the saddle.
The 26-year-old worked for several years as a jockey in racing’s historic HQ, Newmarket, before shooting to fame on The X Factor in 2012.
Since then, he and Union J have become one of the world’s most popular boybands, clinching three top 10 singles. JJ together with bandmates Josh Cuthburt, George Shelley and Jaymi Hensley are set to release their second album, You Got It All, next month and are currently promoting the single of the same name, which is out on Friday 30 November and features a version with The Vamps.
During his career on the racetrack he rode 20 winners and was a jockey to The Queen. He tells us that he still follows the sport and eventually would like to get back in the saddle.
We can’t wait to see him back on the track!
