The final chapter – Enable to break the ultimate record on Sunday
Since its inception in 1920, the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe has never had a horse that has won the race three times.
Europe’s greatest Flat race attracts the best horses across multiple generations from around the world and that’s why winning the race just once is an incredible achievement.
However, if there’s one horse capable of shattering the record, it’s Enable.
She became only the second horse to win the race twice in its history. Last year’s pulsating victory where she held off the challenge of on-rushing Sea Of Class was made all the more impressive after having a season majorly affected by injury with only one prep run on the all-weather at Kempton. John Gosden even said she wasn’t 100% fit before the race.
Gosden’s wondermare has looked even better this season after three Group One victories. In 2019, she’s proven once again her incredible versatility, she has the ability to win on any ground, from the front and showing that thrilling turn of foot to win the final furlongs. The most impressive victory this year was the King George where she showed that immense will to win when holding off Crystal Ocean in an epic race at Ascot.
The superstar filly has a lot of things on her side going into the 2019 Arc. She’s the best horse in the race on ratings, and the bookies have her as clear favourite. She’s also got one of the best jockeys in the world, Frankie Dettori, who at the tender age of 48 is in the form of his life. Not to mention one of the best trainers in the business, a master of getting his horses to deliver on the biggest stages.
It was only seven years ago when Frankel retired, and we thought we wouldn’t see a horse the likes of him for a very long time. But if Enable wins Europe’s greatest Flat race for a record third time on Sunday she’ll without doubt be mentioned in the same esteem
Here’s just some of the messages of support and excitement for Enable ahead of the Arc
I think even the French people want Enable to win next weekend. It will be some occasion if she does. However, when Treve won the Prix Vermeille before her 3rd Arc, she looked unbeatable, so let us remember that nothing is certain. I just pray that Enable wins. I’d love that.

Can you imagine Enable winning her 3rd arc and The Tiger winning his 3rd National. It will be the ‘Season of All Seasons’ #Legends

If she does tho I still might cry…

We were rooting for Treve years back to win her third Arc but she failed as a 5 year old, only one 5 year old mare won the Arc in 1937 and it was Corrida. This year it’s like a full circle of emotions as Enable tries to make history by winning the Arc for the 3rd time. Can’t wait

The Queen should declare Monday 7th October a national day of mourning if Enable doesn't win a 3rd Arc.
