The best moments of the 2018 Cheltenham Festival

Record attendances, shock results and unforgettable performances made for what was an incredible Cheltenham Festival.

Naturally, the Gold Cup took centre stage with many saying it was one of the best head-to-head races they’ve ever seen as Native River and Might Bite fought it out over two circuits of the Cheltenham racetrack.

Not to mention Altior’s triumphant return to the Cotswolds, rising stars such as Samcro and Presenting Percy putting in spectacular performances and some of the wildest celebrations we’ve ever seen at The Festival.

Over the four days, there were so many moments which we could pick out but this is what stood out to us.

Colin Tizzard from dairy farmer to Gold Cup winning trainer

After having an up and down season, Colin Tizzard claimed the biggest prize of the Festival – the Gold Cup. An incredible story for someone who was dairy farmer not that long ago and trained racehorses as a hobby.

Tizzard was so ecstatic with his horse Native River winning the race that he stayed up to 3am on Saturday watching replays!
