Paisley Park planning to prolong winning run at Ascot
Paisley Park is strong favourite to extend his winning run to seven in the Grade 1 Marsh Hurdle (registered as the Long Walk Hurdle) this Saturday.
Emma Lavelle’s stable superstar was last defeated way back in March 2018 at the Cheltenham Festival. Since then, he’s won five Graded races including last season’s Sun Racing Stayers’ Hurdle.
Paisley Park showed himself to be as dogged as ever when most recently seen winning Newbury’s Ladbrokes Long Distance Hurdle on his seasonal reappearance.

The staying hurdler won last year’s feature race at Ascot’s Christmas Family raceday with his typical surge to the line in the final furlongs. His handler Emma Lavelle was cautiously confident that Paisley Park will be able to defend his crown this weekend.
When interviewed on Luck on Sunday she commented, “he’s in great form. he’s come out of Newbury really well. Even though he had to get his head down and gallop to the line, once he got his head in front he pricked his ears again.
Last year we were on this big journey where we started out in handicaps and just really enjoyed the ride. This year, we’ve had the champion in the yard and it’s been about trying to ready him, so that he’s fit enough to do himself justice.”
