Horsing Around Series Final Episode Released
Now that the summer holidays have officially kicked off for families across the country, comedian and Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams stars in the fifth and final episode of Great British Racing’s ‘Horsing Around’ series, highlighting the fun families can have at racedays throughout the school holidays, as part of the Under 18’s Race Free campaign.
Previously in the Horsing Around series, Walliams and young actor Billy Jenkins (The Crown) enjoyed a father and son day out for Billy’s birthday where they met jockey Ryan Moore, visited the horses in the parade ring, and watched a race by the rail, all while Walliams was continuously schooled by his horse-mad and ever-observant son Billy on his lack of equestrian knowledge.
‘The Final Furlong’ brings an end to their family fun day out where they meet renowned horse racing trainer, Amy Murphy and ex-racehorse Cesare; the “hairy beast” that Walliams likened Simon Cowell to.
Speaking about the campaign, David Walliams said; “The Horsing Around series has shown what fun families can have at race courses across the UK. With six weeks of summer holidays remaining, the Under 18’s Race Free campaign provides a brilliant and affordable day out for all ages.”
Billy Jenkins said, “It’s been great learning so many fun facts during filming for the series – and teaching David a thing or two! I couldn’t believe horses eat 250 Weetabix in one day! That is a lot of food.”
There are more than 200 racedays up and down the country over the school holidays at which accompanied under 18s are admitted free of charge, including more than 50 special family days. As well as the thrilling action on track, families can experience a range of free activities including pony rides, the chance to meet a racehorse and fairground attractions – making it a great and affordable day out.
