Racing world rallies to show amazing support for Freddy Tylicki

Following the shocking outcome of Freddy Tylicki’s fall at Kempton last Monday the racing public has come together to show incredible support for the injured jockey.

At The Races presenter, Matt Chapman, set a fundraising page up soon after the terrible news was publicised that Freddy Tylicki was left with T7 paralysis after his fall, meaning he has no movement in the lower part of his body.

The financial support of the racing family since its launch has been nothing short of phenomenal. Within 12 hours of being live the fundraising page had surpassed its original target of £20,000, and had reached double that figure.

The fund has now passed the £200,000 mark, highlighting the innate nature of the racing industry to support and look after their own. With over 3000 contributors to the fundraising page already, and an extra £40,000 set to be added by bookmakers, £250,000 now looks a very realistic target for the fund to reach.

Tributes continued to flood in over the weekend with Frankie Dettori dedicating his Breeders’ Cup win to the injured rider; while George Wood also took a moment to thank Freddy for his help in the past after winning the November Handicap at Doncaster.

We send our support and thoughts to Freddy and his family in this difficult time.
