David Walliams has teamed up with young actor Billy Jenkins to launch ‘Horsing Around’, a series of comedy sketches to promote racing’s incredible offer that Under 18s Race Free (accompanied by a fee paying adult). The two stars feature in five short episodes showcasing a brilliant day out at the races.

Walliams, a Britain’s Got Talent judge and star of hit sketch show ‘Little Britain,’ plays the embarrassing father of ‘The Crown’ actor Jenkins in the sketches set on a racecourse.

Keen to teach his father about a brilliant day at the races, Billy has to endure his father’s bumbling character in a series of scenes, including an awkward encounter with jockey Ryan Moore, meeting a racehorse, experiencing the parade ring and watching a race.

The subsequent episodes will be released across the summer racing season, to showcase racing’s unique Under 18s Race Free offering.

There are more than 200 racedays up and down the country over the school holidays at which accompanied under 18s are admitted free of charge, including more than 50 special family days. As well as thrilling action on track, racecourses provide a range of free additional activities for under 18s including pony rides, the chance to meet a racehorse and fairground attractions, making it a great and affordable day out.

Under 18s Race Free

David Walliams said: “I had a ball filming the Horsing Around series and really enjoyed my time at the track. It’s clear that there’s loads for families to enjoy at your local racecourse over the summer and the Under 18s Race Free initiative is a brilliant concept that I hope more families will take advantage of.”

Billy Jenkins added, “I really enjoyed my day at the races and being part of the Horsing Around series. There’s so many fun things to do at a racecourse – I loved meeting the racehorse, even though David was less keen! and I’ll definitely be heading back to my local track over the summer with my family.”
